We are committed to educating and supporting our customers, and one another.
In addition to our self service options listed below, the ID Center is conveniently located in-person at the FAC and offers a number of ID card services including ID card printing, EID upgrades, and ID card replacements.
UT EID upgrades allow full access to online services and provides proximity-enabled ID cards for eligible individuals including students, faculty, staff, official visitors and university affiliates.
The ID Center recommends using the request forms below to upgrade your EID and submit your ID Card photo online. Once your ID Card has been created, you will be notified to visit the ID Center in-person to pick it up.
If you are unable to use the online processes, you may visit the ID Center in-person, during business hours, to complete your EID upgrade, take your photo, and receive your ID Card.

Before proceeding to the request an EID Upgrade, please visit the EID Self-Help Tools, "Upgrade my EID" to verify whether your EID is already upgraded.
You WILL NEED an upgraded UT EID to:
- Register online for credit-by-exam tests
- View your grades online
- Access your tax forms online
- Update banking information online
- Make Payments on the What I Owe page
- Use Financial Aid to pay tuition or housing costs
You WILL NOT need an upgraded UT EID to:
- Register for classes
- Access Financial Aid Notification (FAN) to accept or decline an award
Use of the Online EID Upgrade service is available at no cost to members of UT.
Routine requests are typically addressed within two business days.
UT Service Desk staff may escalate requests as needed.
The UT ID Card’s online photo submission process enables UT Austin students, faculty, staff, retirees, and sponsored affiliates to upload a photo to be used for their first UT ID Card.
Use of the UT ID card online photo submission service is available at no cost to members of UT. The cost of the ID Card for students and replacement cards for all members of UT is $10.
Routine requests are typically addressed within two business days. Times will vary during rush, such of during NSS Orientation and the first week of classes.
UT Service Desk staff may escalate requests as needed.
